# 2-1. NBS（Nature Based Solution）

NBSは国際自然保護連合（IUCN）によって「社会課題に効果的かつ順応的に対処し、人間の幸福及び生物多様性による恩恵を同時にもたらす、自然の、そして人為的に改変された生態系の保護、持続的な管理、回復のための行動」\[1]と定義されています。

NBSが取り組む社会課題の範囲には、気候変動（適応と緩和）災害リスク削減、生態系の劣化、生物多様性の損失、食糧安全保障、人間の健康、経済開発、水の安全保障が含まれます。NBSはこれらのうち、単独、または複数の社会課題がエントリーポイントになり得ますが、そのスコープ内で進化していくことで、その他特定の課題も特定され解決される可能性があります。

NBSの効果としては、様々な推定値が示されていますが、2050年までに温室効果ガスの排出量をネットゼロにするために必要な費用対効果の高い気候変動緩和策の約3分の1を提供できるといわれています\[2]

SINRAでは気候変動に関する多くのソリューションの中で、インパクトが大きく、付随した多くのベネフィットがある自然環境の維持・再生に注力してまいります。
